Is there a lecturer or tutor you think did a fantastic job this year?

The Excellence in Teaching Awards are a way of recognising and rewarding outstanding teaching within the Faculty, whether this be on campus, in research, in practice or in placements.

It is an opportunity to acknowledge those teachers who make a real difference to the learning experience of our students.

Award categories

The Faculty offers annual student-nominated awards for academic and general staff teaching & learning excellence in four categories:

  1. Teaching Excellence
  2. Programs that Enhance Learning *
  3. Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning*
  4. Sessional Teaching Excellence

* Both Academic and General Staff are eligible for nominations in categories two and three.

The core element of a nomination is a written statement in which nominees describe their teaching/learning activities and achievements, and specifically address the relevant criteria set out below.

  • Development of curricula and resources that reflect a command of the field
  • Approaches to assessment and feedback that foster independent learning
  • Respect and support for the development of students as individuals

Statements in support of a Program that Enhances Learning award must address each of the following four criteria.  General staff nominated for an award in categories 2 or 3 can also include the following criteria:
